Here are 6 fun game ideas for a bridal shower. These games are designed to be played by party guests of all ages! How Well Does the Bride Know the Groom-The Gum Game!
This game is very simple to play. Everyone will write down a question/answer they have about the groom. One at a time, guests read their question to the bride. If she gets the answer wrong, she eats a piece of gum. This can be quite amusing if she misses a few questions, and then has to answer with a mouth full of gum. Cheaper gum works best, because it can quickly get tough. Use gumballs instead of sticks, they're larger!
The Bell Game.
This game is great because it really keeps your guests on their toes. The host of the shower gives each person a little bell (just like the party favors you see on tables at wedding receptions). They should be on a ribbon to wear around your neck. Each person has to refer to the bride and groom without saying his or her actual name! When a person slips and is caught, the person who first noticed it gets to take their bell. The person wearing the most bells by the end of the party wins a prize!
Free Advice! A Bridal Keepsake.
The host of the shower should prepare this ahead of time. Get construction paper (it's cute to actually use the wedding theme colors) and cut out little hearts. Guests are invited to write marriage advice on the hearts and put them in a decorative vase or jar. This becomes a lovely decorative keepsake for the bride to have.
Truth OR Tare.
All you need for this game is a role of toilet paper and some creativity. Go up to each guest and ask them to pull off the amount of toilet paper they'd normally use during a bathroom visit (this is sure to get some laughs). After everyone has taken their choice of paper, tell them they now have to create a wedding gift from it! People can be really creative with this, making flowers, veils and even jewelry! At the end of the game, the group will vote on the best gift and the winner receives a small door prize.
The Cotton Ball Scoop.
This works great for smaller parties, but larger groups can form teams. A bag of cotton balls is scattered on the floor. One person from each team is blindfolded. They must then pick up the cotton balls using only a spoon, and place them into a bowl on a table. The teams may help their blind teammate by shouting out directions, but cannot help them by touching them or moving them physically in the right direction. The person/team who has the most cotton balls in their bowl after 60 seconds wins a prize. This game is great for kids!
Honeymoon Blackout.
This game is really funny, and you should definitely have a camera ready. Have a suitcase filled with strange clothes (really large clothes that won't fit the bride, feather boa, silk boxers, tacky jewelry...etc). Then blindfold the bride to be and tell her she has 2 minutes to get dressed for a fancy dinner with her new husband. After her time is up, take off the blindfold and show her how she looks!
